I believe in everyone’s lifetime they dream of living in a beautiful home, a home of their dreams with all the amenities and comforts they could possibly ask for. This was always a dream of ours; we knew what we wanted in our home and the exact floor plan we were looking for. We truly never thought this could ever happen until you showed us how. It started with a floor plan that we liked but needed some changes and you showed us how it could be done, you made it so easy. Right from the start of construction you kept us informed on everything, there was never a time that we had a question that went unanswered, you always made yourself available to us. You intervened when we went over our allowance in our kitchen cabinetry and suggested how we could save money by having your carpenter do some of the work, which turned out to be more than we could have anticipated. You foremen, Pat and J.C., were a delight to work with: both of them helped us through each stage of the building process and made many great suggestions.

Now that we are moved in and settled we continue to walk through our home in awe of what you have built for us. Our home is more than we could have possibly asked for or expected. It is just unbelievable and beautiful. Our friends and family are so amazed by every little detail you put into this house. Thank you Ed for building our dream home. We look forward to many years of friendship with you.

Having been in our home for approximately five weeks now I just wanted to express our sincere gratitude for the excellent job you did throughout our entire construction process. Your concern and complete attention to our wants and desires regarding the construction of our home made the process much more comfortable and actually quite enjoyable.

Building a house, as you know was my wife’s desire not mine, my reluctance was based solely on horror stories I had been told by people who had undertaken this project as well as my own experience in building two separate commercial buildings for my business. Had I ever thought this process could be so smooth and painless, we would have done this several years earlier.

Susan and I are both very proud of our new home and genuinely feel that we got more house than we actually designed. The attention to detail as well as the unique design some of which you suggested are both evident the first time you drive up to the house. From the time of our initial meeting thru the pricing and construction, you were always willing to work with any of our off the wall requests and every curve ball we threw your way. It made building our home not the nightmare story that we hear most of the time from other friends, but a true pleasure.

We felt confident with all of the subcontractors as well. They all seem to understand your demand for quality from their individual trades. You never let quality go unchecked and if it wasn’t right, you never hesitated to make them do it over until it was.

As in all new construction, there will be something that needs attention after the “closing.” We felt totally confident that you would take care of any details, and, of course, you did. Again that says quality and integrity, something that is rare in this day.

After many interviews with several very well known builders in the Myrtle Beach area, my husband and I were blessed with a close friend introducing us to Eddie Friend.

With several months of research behind us, and never even hearing of Excalibur Construction, we were a bit apprehensive. I remember the day Eddie was scheduled to come by for his interview. With my mind already made up on who was going to build our new home, I did not go into this interview with an open mind. Needless to say, by the time Eddie left our home we had set a date for our next meeting to draw up the house plans.

What impressed us most about Eddie is his extensive knowledge about all phases of construction. Being 8 months pregnant at the time construction started, my husband and I could not be at the house all the time. We trusted Eddie to be our eyes and ears during the early stages of construction. He was always aware of what was going on, and he was able to make decisions and changes as needed. Whenever we needed an update, Eddie was there to give it.

With the addition of a new baby on the way, we were in an extreme hurry for our home to be built. Eddie’s motivation was second to none. He understood the time constraints we were under. Eddie not only followed a tight schedule when building the home but also was able to complete the house significantly earlier than expected.

The decision to build our home with Eddie Friend was made with great comfort. Eddie was going to build us a high quality home for a cost that was substantially less than what we were being quoted.
